More Performance Art

Again, the two comics are posted on the other side of the register, as drawn in the strip.  Customers walked up and read the first panel, and were confused.  Then read the second and smiled.  Or scowled.  A few yelled "get out of my head!"  That's what's most rewarding about making comics.  People yelling "get out of my head!"

Sequential Humor

The narrative of the joke:  These two notes were posted to the other side of my register, a foot apart. A customer walks up, reads the first note and asks me "left what in your car?"  "Today's comic."  "You left today's comic in the car?"  And then I point to the second panel, or in the case of the first customer, I posted it.  It left most of the customers confused, but a few of them thought it was hilarious.

Respect for Your Elders

Not inspired by this one but one of my t-shirts.  Seriously.  SRSLY?  Cthulhu? MF'ing Cthulhu?  He Who Will One Day Devour All That Lives is not from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Communicative Dance

Customers occasionally wave pastries at us, or make other meaningless gestures.  Sarah and I felt like a guide to communication might clear things up.

We Went Extra Weird Today

I ask a customer "have you been helped?"  The reply? "I'm just waiting for my burrito."  The delivery of "I'm just waiting for my burrito" created the sense that it was a life stance.  I was inspired.  I felt that I too was just waiting for my burrito.  Melanie wanted an extra cheesy burrito, which I felt was difficult to acquire in America without a degree.  I dunno.  My mind went to a strange place and we all ran with it.  Other customers started a discussion about the effects of education on the acquisition of burritos. It's sounds like I imagined it, but it really happened.

HelloAndWelcomeToTheBlackMyNameIsRobAndThisIsMelanie

Every now and then, I overdose.  And then I am a being made of light, able to see and understand the cosmos.

Shut Up, Rob

As you can see, I command the highest level of respect from my coworkers.

The Start of the Rob And Melanie Show

The beginning of the Rob And Melanie Show.  I drew me and she drew herself.  The jokes get a little weirder than normal.  A customer saw fit to add a mouth to me, while explaining to another customer that I look like an outlet.  What the hell?  Not cool.

Live Life Using Elementary School Rules

If you had to take the lid off to use it, put the lid back.  If it's food you don't want flies on, put a lid on it.  If it's in my cafe with a lid, leave the lid on, or put the lid back when you're done.

But... my sandwich...

The first time your boss asks to smell your food, you may find it odd.  With time, you will learn to start offering up your food to be inspected via sniff before you start eating it.

The Return of How Much Is Too Much

How Much Is Too Much is my favorite prompt, I think.  The only prompt I can think of right now.  Jess and I are perfect foils for each other when it comes to food.  Cilantro Devil gave me a chance to break out the highlighter, or, in my case, go get a highlighter from an office supply room.

I've gotta get better at this!

I'm not a natural blogger, and I'm sorry!  I'm good at rocking it for a while, and then being distracted by meatspace!  I'm still drawing.  I'm still digitizing.  The posting is just patchy.  I need enough followers that the uproar keeps me in line.
