Just a quick entry today; I have mostly been sending printed cards lately.  But I did give my address to The Postcard Project, who sent me this card:

I fired off this collage, which is my first collage in a while, continuing my theme of not really being satisfied with my most recent collage work.

Postcards: The Little Bird Postcard Project

So I was looking at postcard accounts on Instagram, as I am wont to do, and I found this call to art.

Draw a bird on a postcard and mail it to Australia; I can do that.

Postcards: Plant, Animal, Object -- Erin's Prompt

On today's edition of Plant, Animal, Object, we have Erin's request for willow, walrus, sun hat.  Challenging, to be sure.

I remembered to make a background this time.

And then on to research!  Erin sent me some pictures of willow.

And then The Internet provided walrus and sun hat sources.

I just added the knife because it needed something, I inherited a cool knife from my grandpa.

It's time for the zinnia/dandelion, cat, boat edition of Plant, Animal, Object!

Okay, I couldn't find images of either boat that I drew, having for some reason only saved the one boat picture.

The cat turned into a squirrel, or something.  Again, I intended to cartoon it up a bit, not make it unrecognizable.

As usual, we begin with gathering some reference images.

Then right into drawing and painting.

Whoops!  I forgot to put the background color down first, like a fool.  Nothing to do but add it in, and then get inking.
