Scanning photos, laptop shopping, furniture shopping... the number of things I am doing that are not making postcards is astounding.  I am guessing next week will be more random art than postcards.

I am still a little behind on postcards, and photography season is coming up.  Hopefully this week I will produce enough to keep the blog running.  Until then, stay funky!

Sorry!  I have been working on Christmas cards instead of postcards.  I am also sitting on some cards; I tend not to scan them until I am ready to mail them, and a number of my friends have not written back.  I think I am waiting on replies from Westen, Ross, Jen, and Melanie.  So that will be four more posts once I am ready to send those cards.  I sent this one to Fred, a real cool dude.

I was in BD for a few days, and that was enough to rock out a few comics.  Can I keep it rolling?  Magic 8-Ball says "Reply hazy try again."  Fountain pens to learn about.  Prompts to draw.  Dreams to document.  Photos to edit.  What is a barista to do?

I Am Legit Distracted

Hello, all!

Sorry I have been absent so long. I've been engaged in a lot of Family Activities and general business.  I've also taken on scanning Carley's photos to make them available to her whole family.  This week I'll post some of the gems, and hopefully next week I'll be ready to fall back in to routine.

Some filler before the explosion!

I'm kicking off a Black Dragon rotation.  That means I need to write five comics a week for a month.  It'll catch me up once I've drawn, scanned, and uploaded them all.  I'll do a lot of that this weekend, so we should be interruption free starting Monday.  Until then, photos!

If there's one thing I've learned...

There will always be Februarys.  And so, this is another call for guest comics!  I feel like there will be fewer interruptions to service if I have some sort of comic surplus.  Hook me up!  You know where I work.  Probably.  Or you know someone who knows where I work.  Or you're related to someone who knows where I work.  Point is, you should be able to get comics to me.  Draw something on a stick note, and get it to me by whatever means necessary.

I'm a little behind on comics,  It's true.  And I'm sorry.  There's been stuff going on.  But I'm getting back in the ring.  I made comics for days 1, 3, and 4 of UGM.  I've lost day 1, so here's day 3.

Boy howdy.  Wedding season is wrapping up, but it was a busy one.  I have a lot of editing done and a lot of editing to do.  My day job has also been intensely busy, and this has left little time for drawing.  I also have a stack of books coming in that needs to be personalized.  So I'll have Barista Powers up and running again on the 29th.  This is also a call for guest comics.  I clearly need to keep some filler in storage.

Failing to Go Pro.

I'm too easily distracted to Go Pro.  In a moment, I can have intense focus.  But a lifetime's lack of skills attests to my inability to keep that focus rolling without intense aid.  Which is where you all come in.  Barista Powers is nearing it's three year anniversary, of sorts.  I don't have a date on the first one, and it was a while yet after that it was deemed Barista Powers.  But in November it will have been three years with The Company.  Feedback, be it praise or demands, has kept Barista Powers up and running.  Feedback inspires me to attempt to have a new comic every day I work at the Black Dragon, guilts me into having a filler panel when I fail, and set the tone of making light of my failures.  I've sold more than eight books so far.  It might not be a significant number in the real world, to me it is astonishing.
