I felt like it was time to play around with other arts's styles.  I love Mike Mignola's work, including his post-Hellboy paintings.

Now, I have no idea how to do that, but it seemed like a good style to draw inspiration from.

I Get That A Lot

Do you own any Lovecraftian swag?  No?  Let me tell you, it prompts some conversations.  As I've mentioned before, I work with a lot of nerds.  A fairly high percentage of my customers recognize Cthulhu, and are indeed delighted.  A few though, do not.  When someone asks you, "What's that" as they gesture toward the Cthulhu fleeing the Avengers artwork emblazoned upon you chest, what do you say?  Where do you go, from that moment?

Have you seen Night Of The Demon?  No?  Go do it!  It's so good.  My dad and his brothers got me into black and white horror movies, and some of them are just fantastic.  Just the right amount of scary for kids.  Invisible men, giants ants, and cursed runes.  What's not to love?

Not the best renderings of some of the characters, but it was good practice.  I introduced two new characters as well!!

Proofing The Book

I'm being shipped a proof of the book.  After that, I'll make the appropriate edits, including creating a cover image.  Upload all that stuff, and the book will be purchasable.  It does look like the final price will be higher than I hoped, but I'll keep you up to date.  All this does mean that I haven't been drawing enough.
