We watched Bill Making Stuff, and then made stuff.

Postcards: Rock Coin Necklace

Just more practice!  I have a jar of rocks from around my driveway, and I've just been trying to figure out how watercolors work.  Not how to draw a generic rock, mind you, but the exact rock I'm looking at.  The coin and necklace I took from my knickknack collection to practice contrasting textures/shapes.

Postcards: Goodluck Charms

I don't remember a lot about this one, other than I wanted to draw charms inspired compositions.

I thought this composition was too vibrant, so I foolishly inked over all of it with walnut ink.

Whoa!  All the color is gone!  I did my best to put some of it back.

Naturalist Journal Practice: Pottery Fragments

When I'm not working on postcards, but am still arting, I'm usually in one of my many journals and sketchbooks.  I'm working on drawing objects as practice for a naturalist journal.  I knew for this entry, I wanted to mix in a fantastic element.  I researched pottery fragments.

I also looked up golem.

I also just looked at our mugs.

And then I got to drawing.

And then I went to drawing from actual rocks, hopefully selling the fragment as a real object.
