Postcards: Sunrise at Marshal Park

Not much to say about this one.  I took Carley to work at butt in the morning, and on my way home I swung by a park to view the sunrise over the lake.  Later on I tried interpreting it via water color.

Postcards: The Hornworm

My parents took a picture of this hornworm.

And my sister said I should draw it.

So I gave it a shot.

I felt like it had a monstrous vibe.

So I took it in a kaiju direction.

Postcards: Trying out the Art of Soil

My buddy Mar bought me some new watercolors for The Art of Soil.  I thought I'd start off with a simple portrait.

They're interesting!  I have a pretty limited, earthy palette, and they're... grainy?  That's probably the closest word to what I'm looking for.  They don't get picked up by the brush nor get put back down as smoothly as my usual Joan of Art watercolors.

Photos: First trip throught the Corridor

We wandered the Pheasant Branch Corridor for the first time!

We didn't know what to expect, but unsurprisingly we mostly saw the snails, birds, flowers, and bugs we see at other Madison parks.

We had never seen galls quite like this before.

Our usual picturesque nemesis, the Japanese Beetle.

And our good friend the Bumble Bee.
